Newer cottage on the sunny side of Vrådal / Vraadal

Area-efficient cottage in an idyllic location on the sunny side of Vrådal with great views of the water and the mountains. Here you can enjoy the sun from it rises until it goes down on our 50 kvm terrace facing the water. The cabin consists of hallway, bedroom, bathroom and open plan living / kitchen area. The bedrooms are distributed as follows: A room with bunk bed (2 pers), a bedroom with double bed and a cot (2 (3) pers) and a bedroom with family bunk 150 cm downstairs and 90 cm in the upper bunk (3 pers). There are two highchairs in the cottage.

You can check in and out whenever you want as we have the key box installed. Prices include energy costs and firewood. sheets and towels can be included if we know about the booking well in advance of your arrival. Pillows and duvets are included. There are various toys and children’s books at your disposal. We have a sledge in the cabin that can be used freely by our guests.

In summertime it is several places to rent a boat. There are many beautiful islands to get to, and you can use the boat to get to the city center / Straand hotel.

The Vrådal cottage branch in which the cottage is located is very child friendly with several playgrounds, a jumping pad, a tennis court and a built-up swimming area with a water trampoline. In the winter there is a lighted toboggan run and groomed ski runs right outside the door. When the ice is safe during winter, it is used for skiing, ice skating or on foot.

The water Nisser, located just below the cabin, is considered one of the most scenic parts of Norway and has a warm inland climate in the summer. Here the fishing opportunities are good and you can fish for perch and char in both summer and winter. There are several possibilities for renting canoes / boats if you want to experience the village from the water.

Vrådal has many activities and is suitable for everyone. Here you can fish, pick berries, play golf, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, top hikes, visit one of the many swimming beaches Vrådal has to offer, go cycling, or try one of the many hiking trails in the area. From the area there is a nature trail, two Nordic Walking trails and only 4 km away is the famous hiking area Veneli.

The city center is 4 km away. Here you will find a grocery store and cafe, as well as some small shops. The lodge is 2 km away from Quality Straand Hotel with its own summer country, indoor swimming pool, restaurant and outdoor seating. From May to October you can sail with MS Fram and explore Nisser and Trevi Lake with its white beaches and fantastic mountain slopes on a 2.5 hour trip. You can reach both the city center and the Straand hotel by boat.

The golf course in Vrådal is a 9 hole golf course beautifully situated on Fossøy in Lake Nisser, surrounded by woods and mountains. The course is open for drop-in every day as long as conditions allow.

In winter time it is around 10 minutes to drive to Vrådal panorama ski center. The ski center has an 8-seater chairlift, 4 ski lifts, board parks, children’s area and 15 slopes in all difficulty levels. The children’s and beginner’s area is free to use and suitable for both sledding and skiing.

Vrådal is a great starting point for cycling enthusiasts. There are several round trips you can try with different distances. Several of these take place in flat terrain with little car traffic. For the slightly more adventures, there are downhill and trail biking with different levels of difficulty at the Vrådal Panorama ski center.
